Germany
Germany is a country of many contrasts with elegant big-city charm, small picture-postcard towns and a well-documented history.
The pleasures of beautiful forests, delightful castles, fine wine and beer are all there for the savouring. Berlin has become a bustling cosmopolitan city with a very modern feel to it; lined with trendy shops, bars and restaurants and with a wealth of historical sights and famous monuments. It is a great city to wander around and take in the Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie and what remains of the Berlin Wall. With one in every three Germans being a member of a sporting club, excellent competition is assured making it an excellent touring destination to combine sport with an educational aspect especially for more Junior groups.
Munich, rivalled only by Berlin as Germany's most popular destination, is a city that will be embraced by more adult groups with its famous post-match hospitality in one of the many beer halls! It is also a sophisticated and compact city and is a pleasure to stroll around with grand avenues and spacious squares that recall past glories. The city is a haven for all sorts of culture, with a staggering array of museums, a vibrant arts scene and the infamous revels of Oktoberfest. After a hard fought battle on the pitch follow the raucous racket of cheers and oompah-music to the nearby Hofbräuhaus and let the party begin!
