Ireland
Dublin - The Irish Republic's capital and its heart.
Dublin now ranks among the top tourist destinations in Europe. Easily accessible from the UK by coach or a short flight Dublin offers a wealth of opportunities for the visitor both on and off the field. Dublin sides always provide exceptionally warm hospitality and fierce opposition for players of all ages and abilities and rugby, football, hockey and netball are among the favourites for touring sides here with excellent facilities on offer. And then there’s the post-match activities – pints of the ‘black stuff’ will flow everywhere you go but Temple Bar is synonymous for the best in Dublin night life and you won’t be disappointed by any pub or bar you find yourself in.
Although most people don't schedule too much gallery time into the pub crawl, Dublin museums offer a wealth of collectables and there is great shopping to be had or other adventure activities to keep Junior sides well occupied. Not surprisingly then Dublin is one of the favourite destinations for touring sides and who can blame them.
Cork - The Irish Republic's second-largest city is an appealing place.
You'll find time passes effortlessly during the day, and by night the pub scene is lively. The famous Irish hospitality is in abundance and the sporting teams you will encounter here are first rate with the most competitive being those playing rugby, football and hockey.
The town centre is uniquely situated on an island between two channels of the Lee River and there is plenty to keep the visitor entertained with bars, restaurants and great shopping all within close proximity. North of the river is the Shandon area which is an interesting historic part of the city while sights to the south include St Finbarr's Cathedral, the Cork Museum and numerous churches, breweries and chapels.
All forms of accommodation are on hand with city centre locations ideally placed for the more lively teams and there are also nearby holiday parks and activity centres which are perfect for Junior teams to keep them entertained.
