Rugby Tours, Take on the best in the world in their own back yard!
In 1823, legend has it, William Webb Ellis, a pupil at Rugby school (one of England’s grander private schools) picked up the ball and ran it into the goal during a game of soccer. When he asked if it counted as a goal, he was told "no, but it was a good try". Rugby has come a long way since then, and is becoming more popular throughout the world. The next rugby world cup will be held in New Zealand in 2011.
England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland all have a thriving rugby scene, at both the amateur and professional levels and would make ideal tour destinations, based on time of the flight (6 hours from the East Coast) as well as the many historical and cultural experiences on offer.
As current players, we at You Invent began playing rugby at the tender age of 11, and some of us haven’t stopped. We learned about rugby tours by going on them, and as a result, can offer a more complete experience, including not only playing rugby, but coaching clinics, professional games, and of course (the engine that drives amateur rugby worldwide), socializing afterwards. If you love rugby, and want to play more, watch more, talk more and learn more rugby, then a European tour is ideal for you.
We specialize in organizing tailor-made tours for colleges and club sides of all abilities. We cater for both men's and women's teams and understand the importance of creating the right balance between playing competitive games and enjoying the varied activities your destination has to offer. With so much experience and enthusiasm for the game you can be assured of a high-quality rugby tour with an equal emphasis on having fun!
